Object-Awareness,

Sacred

Scriptures

As

The

Vast

Immense

Being

Pervading

Cosmic

Space,

OmniLight Supreme Reality!

Note: The Tamil expression “பெரியவான் பொருள்” alludes to the vastness or immensity (Sanskrit: बृहत् – bṛhat) ascribed to Brahman or the Supreme Being in the Vedas and Upanishads. This couplet also attributes it to OmniLight (அருட்பெருஞ்ஜோதி – Arutperunjothi).

The Arutperunjothi Agaval is Ramalingam’s magnum opus of spiritual enlightenment poetry composed in 798 couplets in 1872. In later posts, I will offer commentaries on these couplets.
