Notes:
This is also a cryptic couplet which affirms the existence of two more kinds of spaces, the “கருவெளி” (karuveli) or dark germinal or generative space in which things originate in amorphousness and the “உருவெளி” (uruveli) or the space in which forms are constituted.
This couplet affirms that the OmniLight sheds rays of illumination in the dark germinal or generative space by its luminous presence in the space in which forms are constituted.
This suggests that there is some kind of link between the dark germinal or generative space and the space in which forms are constituted.
This couplet continues a new series which uses the metaphor of lamp to describe the illuminative or enlightening powers of the OmniLight.
The Arutperunjothi Agaval is Ramalingam’s magnum opus of spiritual enlightenment poetry composed in 798 couplets in 1872. In later posts, I will offer commentaries on these couplets.
